This Sunday evening, Agava Restaurant near East Hill Plaza will host the "first annual" Just Be Cause Party, a benefit to raise funds for the newly opened Just Be Cause Not-for-Profit Development Center. The event, from 5-9pm on Sunday, July 28th, will include dinner and dancing with Little Joe and the Big Shots and The Destination.
The signature wood-fired oven at Agava.$50 tickets are available at Agava, Island Health and Fitness, Terra Rosa in the Triphammer Shopping Plaza, Pastimes in the Dewitt Mall, The Cancer Resource Center and CSP Management. ($25 of each $50 ticket is considered a tax-deductible donation.)
The Just Be Cause Center is intended to be a non-profit equivalent to a business incubator facility, offering affordable office and meeting space to area non-profit organizations. The west-end building, formerly the Ithaca Paint Company building, has been renovated to offer five office spaces, as well as shared conference, meeting, and activity spaces, with modern rest rooms, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi.
Organizations planning to use the facility, which had a ribbon-cutting last month, include Running 2 Places and the Kitchen Theatre, Mira's Movement, the Friendship Donations Network, and the Ithaca Public Education Initiative. The building is dedicated to the late Judy Dietz, who died last summer.
