This week's Trumansburg Fair, running from Tuesday through Sunday at the Trumansburg Fairgrounds on Route 96, offers rides, demolition derbies, a zoo, horse shows, a parade, and even a Thursday-night Grandstand concert featuring many favorites from the GrassRoots Festival. Admission to the fair is just $5, with children 12 and under admitted free, and most evening Grandstand shows range from $5-7 per person beyond fair admission.

Unlike last year's show, grandstand admission is free of charge for Thursday night.
GrassRoots Retro Gravy is hosted this year by Jeb Puryear of Donna the Buffalo and Sim Redmond of the Sim Redmond Band, joined by such favorites as Hank Roberts, Crow Greenspun, Uniit Carruyo, Johnny Dowd, Amy and Ward Puryear, Maddy Walsh and Mike Suave, and Tara Nevins. Last year, the concert was essentially a non-stop four-hour jam with a steadily changing cast of characters.
The fair begins Tuesday at noon, with an official opening ceremony at 4pm and demolition derby at 8, and runs through Sunday evening's 5pm demolition derby final event. The wild animal petting zoo is open all week at no extra charge, and Saturday admission is just $2 per person from noon to 3pm.
Free parking is available within the fairgrounds. Additional fair schedule info is at www.trumansburgfair.info.
