Tickets go on sale Wednesday morning, September 4th, to Cornell students and Thursday morning, September 5th, to the general public for the Ke$ha concert taking place on Sunday, September 29th, at Cornell University's Barton Hall. Ticket sales begin both days at 9am.
The Cornell Concert Commission announced the popular singer-songwriter and rapper's appearance last month. Ke$ha has written songs for Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, and other major performers, in addition to writing and performing her own songs.
The musician and storyteller says, "I've always known I wanted to be a performer." She says her love for writing story songs comes from spending her formative years hanging out with veteran songwriters in Nashville. "There’s video of me at age five, naked and covered in body paint, saying, ‘I’m going to be a rock star and there’s no way anyone is going to stop me!’ It’s my calling. If I don’t go for it, I’m going to feel like a tool when I’m 50.”
Advance ticket sales will occur only at cornellconcerts.com, at $25 for Cornell students and $33 for the general public. Remaining tickets, if any, will be available at the door at $30 for students and $40 for the general public.
