Fresh from its victories at the Dolby Theatre this weekend, the animated "Frozen" will be screened just once at Cornell Cinema, this Saturday afternoon. The 2pm showing in the basement theatre at Willard Straight Hall costs $4 for adults and $3 for kids under 12.
"Frozen" features the voices of Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, and Idina Menzel, who performed "Let it Go," which won Sunday night's Oscar for Best Original Song. It's set in the kingdom of Arendelle, which is in a perpetual season of winter. Anna, voiced by Bell, sets out with friends to break the constant winter by finding her sister Elsa, played by Menzel.
The movie is an hour and 48 minutes long, and is recommended for ages 5 and up. In addition to the Best Original Song award, "Frozen" took home the Academy Award for Best Animated Picture. Popcorn and snacks from GreenStar will be available for sale.
Also on campus this Saturday afternoon is the 8th annual Hilltop Jamboree, a carnival from noon to 5pm in Barton Hall featuring live performances, inflatable bounce houses, snacks, and rides. Admission is $5, and proceeds will support the United Way of Tompkins County.
